Overexposed

For the first time in a very long time I managed to get out and about for a sunrise shot. Unfortunately it wasn't the most successful of trips with the cloud covering the sun all the way up until I got back to my car (why does that always happen).

The worst bit was that the metering on my camera seemed to be duff. Every shot I took was overexposed and in the end I was just taking shots using trial and error... not the easiest of things to do when it's freezing cold!

I gave up in the end but here's one of my best guesses!

(btw... updated the firmware on my 40D to v1.1.1 and all seems to be well again - fingers crossed!)

It's not been a happy bush this year partly due to my over-enthusiastic pruning. Still, it seems to have made a comeback and has even managed to flower much to the delight of all things buzzy (and non-buzzy).

I've talked before about the outbreak of Phytophthora on Cannock Chase and is good to see for the most part that people take notice of the signs around and keep their dogs on a leash.

Unfortunately, like the couple in the distance here... some don't :(

We've had lots of snow here in the UK recently, and no matter how prepared we think we are it always seems to bring the country to a standstill.
Snow is apparently something very difficult to forecast and I don't pretend to understand it fully but at least it makes the satellite pictures interesting
